Raisins of zibibbo

The “Moscato d’Alessandria” or “Zibibbo” is a precious vine originating from Egypt, widespread in the warmer countries of the Mediterranean, used both for the production of sweet wines and grapes dried in the sun.
The origin of the name Zibibbo (used in Sicily) for some authors dates back to the Egyptian locality El Zibibb from which it originates, for others it goes back to the North African word Zibibb which means dried grapes, due to its aptitude for drying.
The Zibibbo grape is famous for the characteristic aromatic note of the wines it produces.
To be tasted with well-aged cheeses or with fresh goat cheeses. Excellent dipped in a glass of Passito di Pantelleria for dessert, in a vanilla ice cream or in yogurt.
